National Hispanic Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the annual observance from September 15 to October 15, recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic and Latin American people to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

Our Spanish-speaking Information Specialist shares “I’m celebrating by voicing the issues I’ve witnessed while helping the Hispanic community. I want you to know that Hispanic parents work as unpaid caregivers, that many injured undocumented immigrants are being deported, and that many Hispanics living with paralysis are being taken advantage of. We must continue working together because juntos somos más y podemos alcanzar lo imposible.”

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation aims to bridge the gap experienced by many Latino/as living with paralysis and their caregivers, while also contributing to the progress made by Hispanic and Latin American individuals. The Reeve Foundation has developed many resources in Spanish, such as a dedicated Spanish website, blogs written by Spanish speakers, a Spanish language Paralysis Resource Guide, and a dedicated Spanish-speaking Information Specialist!

Follow us all month long as we bring you new educational content featuring Latino/a community members living with paralysis who share their stories and culture with us.
