Nutly Films presents a story of Scott Chesney’s journey of self-discovery, Ride the Wave.
In 1985, Chesney went to bed and woke up not being able to feel his toe, that feeling of numbness spread to both of his legs, leaving him paralyzed from his belly bottom down. There was no accident, trauma, or injury. He was 15 years old at the time. He was extremely athletic and dreamed of playing college basketball or football. He was left paralyzed by a type of spinal cord stroke. Instead of being pessimistic about what happened, he chose to be self-motivated and self-inspired. Now he had a new perspective on life that nothing will stop him from what he wants to accomplish. Chesney believes that “there is a blueprint inside of us, there is access to strength beyond our wildest dreams.”
This story will show others that they are not alone, and self-discovery was key in his journey. He can’t change what happened to him, all he can do is move forward. One says, “the chair doesn’t make him special; it is what he does and how he does it that make him special.” This is a story of “hope, challenges, resilience, courage, family, friends, love, and gratitude.”
